About Milad Tower

As high as 435 meters, Milad Tower is considered world's fourth TV and telecommunications tower after CN Tower in Toronto, Ostankino Tower in Moscow and Oriental Pearl Tower in Shanghai.
Standing 1444 meters above seal level in the metropolis Tehran, Milad Tower is regarded as the tallest tower in Iran and Middle East region.
Milad Tower has been comprised of four main parts:
1- TV and Telecommunications Tower,
2- Conferences and Seminar Center,
3- Prestigious International Five-Star Hotel,
4- International Trade and Convention Center Generally,
moreover facilitating of information exchange and communications, usage of the tower can be classified in the fields of information technology (IT), trade, commercial, cultural, artists and tourism services.

The proposed and selected architectural design of the tower is manifestation of Islamic-Iranian architectural art design, bringing about a bond between traditional architectural designs with the modern one.
In other words, Milad Tower is an octagonal base, symbolizing traditional Iranian architecture.

Milad Tower consists of five main parts: foundation, transition (lobby) structure, shaft, head structure and antenna mast (TV and Telecommunications).

Foundation of Milad Tower:
Depth of tower foundation is measured 14 meters, including a circle-shaped foundation with transition structure. Diameter of the foundation and height of transition structure is measured at 66 and 10 meters respectively. Moreover, average thickness of the foundation is measured at 4 meters at large.

  • Tower Lobby Structure

  • The lobby structure of the tower consists of six floors, constructed on a land area as large as 17,000 square meters. Ground floor lobby has been envisioned for entrance and visitors reception. The first three floors of the tower consists of 63 trade units, 11 food courts, a cafeteria, and a commercial product exhibition which is supposed to be 260 square meters. The first and second floors underground consist of official and installing sections and data center.

  • Shaft of Milad Tower Complex

  • The shaft is a concrete-based structure which is 315 meters high. It three different sides of it, a number of 6 (six) elevators are deigned to transfer dear visitors to the head of the tower at the speed of 7 meters per second.
    Visitors are transferred by the designed elevators in 45 seconds to the head of the tower.


  • Head Structure of Milad Tower

  • The head of the tower is a metal structure, weighing 2,000 tons, as large as 16,000 square meters, which has been constructed in 12 floors. The structure is the tallest multi-story structure among all telecommunications towers in the world. In top floor of the tower, there are fire-immune area, closed observation deck, cafeteria, public art gallery, open observation deck, a revolving restaurant, telecommunications floors, and a sky dome.
    Sky dome is located at the highest point of the structure.
    As mentioned in above, a fire-immune area has been considered as the lowest floor of tower's top structure.


  • Milad Tower Telecommunications Mast

  • The four-stage antenna mast is 120 meters high. The lower floor of mast is for adjustment of public users' telecommunications antennas and the three upper floors are considered to the antenna of radio and television organizations of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
